The feminine urge to MUTE all the noise, chaos, and stress during the winter season is normal

Have you ever just needed a break?

If you’re anything like me, you LOVE learning all the things, researching new topics, devouring books/podcasts/documentaries/instagram posts/etc…

But there are also times where your mind, body, and spirit are begging for the opposite. Where you feel like if you try to take in one more crumb of new information, your brain will explode.

Well, I’m here to tell you that that is totally normal and okay!

Especially during winter. And we’re starting to enter the darkest, coldest time of the year here in the northern hemisphere, so these feelings are right on time. It’s like God knew what He was doing when he created us or something 🤷🏼‍♀️

With the winter solstice being less than 2 weeks away, we’re very much in the “menstrual” phase of the year. What I mean by that is every season is like a phase in our menstrual cycle, and winter is the phase of menstruation.

If you’re finding yourself feeling the need for deep rest, reflecting on the past year, making important decisions, and craving more peace and quiet… you’re not just lazy and tired. Your body is actually asking you to do those things!

Instead of fighting your physiology, beating yourself up for not getting a million things done every day, and not understanding why you can’t just get things together, it’s because your body is nicely asking you not to!

Time flies. Before we know it, it’ll be spring again and we’ll be back to feeling super energized and productive.

PS - don’t worry, I won’t ever stop sharing educational content! But I also think it’s important to practice what you preach, so taking a slow down for the rest of the year is what I plan to do. Anyone else?

PSS - @taylorraylin posted on this topic yesterday and I love it SO much. It inspired some of the content in this post and everyone should go check it out.
