It’s all about PERSPECTIVE.
Before reading this post, please hear this:
I completely and totally understand that there are people in circumstances where they are not able to afford the highest quality products, no matter how many sacrifices they make. I get that. I hope and pray that it’s a short season of life for you and do not let this post be a reason for you to stress out even more.
Remember that better > perfect, so just do the best you can and don’t allow the stress of not being able to afford the highest of quality for everything keep you from still doing your best.
BUT, in my experience, I’ve had people ask me how I afford high quality food while they have a Starbucks in their hand, an expensive purse, and a fresh manicure.
Anyone choosing to live this lifestyle will tell you, it’s about sacrifice.
I’ll sacrifice a lot of modern day “pleasures” for my health, because I realize if I don’t have my health, I have nothing.
A good manicure and a craft cocktail can only get me so far.
Now is there anything wrong with enjoying these things? No.
If you enjoy indulging in these things, that’s understandable. But they’re just that… indulgences.
I think our modern day culture has treated these things like necessary “self care”, but in my opinion, they are bandaid “self-care” practices that can leave you feeling empty and unfulfilled.
Health = wealth, and learning how to take care of your body and provide healthy meals for your family is the gift that keeps on giving.
Putting these false “self-care” practices into perspective can help us see how truly affordable and tangible high-quality food and real self-care can be.
