Hiii everyone. I haven’t shown my face around here for a while! If you’ve been around for a bit, you know that my biggest goal and biggest focus is to GET PREGNANT, but I’m not currently trying.
Why? Because some HTMA and thyroid results from a few months ago revealed that I still have some healing to do in that department. If you don’t know my health history, here it is in a PUFA-free nut shell😂
I’ve struggled with a disordered relationship with food since I was a sophomore in college in 2014 which lead to full-blown anorexia. I’ve been diagnosed with and have had surgery to remove endometriosis, I’ve spent years suffering from extreme estrogen dominance, hypothyroidism, SIBO, Candida, chronic & cystic acne, extreme constipation, toxic mold exposure, etc.
Ya know, just the cool, casual, fun symptoms of living in diet culture and estrogen dominance 😂🤷🏼♀️
So, here’s 10 things I’m doing every day to get my body in the best place for pregnancy. Even if you’re not trying to get pregnant right now, I’d highly encourage all of them to support health and proper hormone function.
1️⃣Getting 20 minutes of sun exposure between 11am-1pm every day for vitamin D (no, I do NOT recommend vitamin D supplements). This is a priority for me. I plan my day around it to make sure I get it in.
2️⃣Eating 3 oysters a day - copper, selenium (thyroid support), B12, and zinc
3️⃣Eating 1/2oz liver a day - iron, copper, b12, vitamin A, vitamin K, etc.
4️⃣Daily castor oil packs to support my liver
5️⃣Dry brushing first thing in the morning when I wake up to move my lymph system and support healthy estrogen detoxification
6️⃣Going for long walks daily to get outside, clear my head, de-stress, and enjoy nature. Strength training a couple days a week if I feel like it
7️⃣Making sure I get my super foods in every single day: gelatin gummies, bone broth, eggs, fruit, organ meats, dairy, mineral broth, adrenal cocktails, etc. so that I can build up stores of bioavailable super-nutrients like folate, choline, copper, minerals, etc. that are CRITICAL for a healthy pregnancy. I far prefer intentional eating over prenatal vitamins, so I don’t take them. That’s a conversation for another time.
8️⃣Re-introducing dairy. Milk makes milk, so IMO, it would be bad news to go into a pregnancy not eating dairy and drinking milk, since I want to breastfeed
9️⃣Daily raw carrot salads for estrogen and endotoxin detox
🔟Reducing stress by relaxing in the evening with a book, journaling, praying for God’s peace as I put my fertility journey into His timing,
Of course I’m doing a lot of other things like making sure I’m eating at least 2000 calories and eating every 3-4 hours, I’ve been using 0 toxins in my home for at least 6 months, and I use natural, plant or animal-based products on my skin.
